The place
Stefi’s Equestrian Tours began as a childhood dream: to explore trails and mountains with a horse as a companion, and to share that experience with others. After studying and training in the field in Greece, England, Cyprus and Canada, and working with and training horses, Stefi brought that dream to life in Karytaina.
Today, we create horseback journeys that connect visitors with the Arcadian landscape, its history and its culture. It is a journey through nature and local history, with a horse as your companion: beneath Karytaina Castle, beside historic bridges and along the banks of the Alfeios River. We invite visitors to experience Arcadia at a gentler pace — noticing the landscape, hearing its stories and feeling part of the place.
Our base is directly below the historic bridge over the Alfeios, where the marked Arcadian Trails network begins. Its routes can be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The base is easy to reach, right by the road, with parking at the bridge and a beautiful panoramic view over the village.
Horse welfare is part of the experience we offer. Our horses live together as a herd across a spacious area and are trained using positive methods, so they can feel safe and willing to take part. That is why we choose small groups and low-impact activities, with care for both the horses and the natural environment.
Our connection with Arcadia extends beyond the trails. We take part in cultural events in Karytaina and organise children’s and environmental camps in summer — animal care, ground-based activities with horses and riding, puzzle walks, archery, children’s yoga, team building games and crafts.
