Our Arcadia, Our Hospitality

Not a trailhead. A mountain with a name older than the games at Olympia.

Lykaion isn’t one path or one village. It’s a massif — the mountain that gave Zeus his oldest altar, a castle that still watches the Alpheios, and a handful of villages built straight onto its own slope.

We don’t sell a summit selfie. We point you to Isari and Vasta, to Karytaina’s stone streets, to the kafeneio that’s open because someone chose to open it — and to the members joining the network from this ground, one by one.

What every Arcadia experience shares

Not staged for visitors — this is how Lykaion actually works

Living, not staged — the loom, the forge and the mill are still worked, not museum re-enactments.
People before postcards — every activity connects back to a member, a school, a village association.
Four seasons, many villages — gravel in spring, festivals in summer, monasteries and mills year-round.
Certified, waymarked ground — the same trail network that connects our stays connects our activities.

Wild greens, mountain honey and the kafeneia of Karytaina and the villages on Lykaion's slopes — the Arcadian breakfast standard applied to this massif's own producers as they join.

The villages

Who's actually on the mountain

From Karytaina on the Alpheios to the villages on the mountain’s own slopes — and, just over the ridge, the temple at Bassae for a day trip.

  • Karytaina — castle, on the Alpheios
  • Isari — on the peak’s own slope
  • Vasta — Agia Theodora chapel
  • Lykosoura — among Greece’s oldest cities
  • Ano Karyes — eastern slope
  • Lykaio — eastern slope
  • Kastanochori — southeastern foothills
  • Isoma Karyon — eastern foothills
  • Leontari — Byzantine hill village
